She had signed an extension with Winmau only hours before getting on a plane and flying down to Florida. She thought there may be some rust to knock off after five weeks of no tournament play but that was not the case as Sandy came out focused and on fire. She progressed through the tough field only dropping 2 legs along the way to capturing the 501 Pro-shoot by beating DeAnna Marsh 5-1 in the Finals on Friday. Saturday would bring another 501 Singles Title this time in the BDO Ranked event over America's top points player and fellow K-Girl Paula Murphy, again she dropped only 2 legs. Paula would return the favor on Sunday in Cricket Singles with Sandy finishing Top 4. The Singles wins bring her a benchmark in her career with an impressive 120 Singles Titles.
Paula was very helpful in finding a male partner for Sandy as she teamed with Chris Sams for the first time. She and the talented Florida player made a run to the Finals twice in 501 and Cricket but couldn't quite break through and finished in 2nd Place in both events. She also teamed with fellow K-Girl Sandy Haas and they captured the Ladies 501 Doubles over Paula and another great Florida player Tyler Meares. They were unable to duplicate their success on Sunday and lost early in Cricket Doubles, nevertheless Sandy had a great time and despite running out of gas on Sunday she had a nice weekend.
As always, Sandy wishes to thank her incredible sponsors for their unwavering support, Winmau, L-Style Global, Flying Bull Darts and Dutchman Darts, no one could ask for more. See the Winmau press release at...http://www.winmau.com/news/2984/Sandy_Storm_Hudson_Continues_Partnership_with_Winmau/.
