She kicked off the tournament by winning 501 Mixed Doubles with a familiar partner, Robbie Phillips, where they topped Ellen Lee and Fred Copeland in the Finals. They competed again on Sunday in the Cricket Mixed Doubles and ended up with a Top 4 finish. In Ladies Doubles she paired up with fellow Kryptonite Girl Paula Murphy and they would go on to sweep the 501 and Cricket events, overcoming some stiff competition along the way. She also reached the Finals of Adult/Youth 501 with her regular partner Gage Alvarado. Playing Adult/Youth always makes for a long day but it means so much to the youth players when they can compete with some of America's top players. The QCDA has managed a solid youth program for many years which has helped so many players get their start in the sport of darts.
Sandy always says she needs to be in tournament shape to compete at a high level and clearly the rust showed at times, especially in Singles. In the BDO/WDF ranked 501 Singles she worked through the long event throwing well at times and missing far too many doubles at other times. She advanced to the Semi-Finals against Paula but couldn't finish losing 4-2. In Cricket she reached the Finals and again fell short against Paula, America's top ranked player.
Sandy thanks her fantastic sponsors who support her every step of the way. Winmau, L-style Global, Flying Bull, and Dutchman Darts make up her amazing sponsors. Sandy's season gets kicked into high gear with four events scheduled in the next five weeks.
