Sandy stormed through the field of talented ladies and ended up winning the Finals over Shea Reynolds 2-0 where she just barely missed a perfect 170 out shot. Saturday was a new day but she started it the same way, by winning Mixed Triples with Tom Sawyer and Canada's Jayson Barlow over Trish Grzesik and two legends of darts, America's Larry Butler and Canada's Bob Sinnaeve. Tom and Sandy would also team up to win Mixed Doubles on Sunday. While they have played Triples before, it was their first time playing Doubles together at a tournament.
Sandy was fortunate to team up with fellow Kryptonite Girl for the first time and finished Top 4 twice, both times losing to the winning team. Cali West and Robin Curry in 501 and Trish and K-Girl teammate Marlise Kiel in Cricket.
In Singles she played well, but lost hard fought matches to Robin in both Semi-Final matches. In the BDO/WDF sanctioned 501 event she held a 3-2 lead in the best of seven but missed opportunities cost her the match against this world class player. In Cricket, she missed a single 16 with 2 darts to lose the opening leg and eventually the match 2-1. She started the weekend off early on Thursday finishing Top 4 in the Warm-Up Blind Draw and was able to compete with youth player Hannah Kaczmarski for the first time as well. The weekend tally included 3 wins, 5 Top 4's and a chance to once again represent America in the Winmau World Masters.
Sandy was impressed by the organization of the Cleveland Darter Club and how smoothly the event ran throughout the weekend. She is blessed to have such amazing sponsors and wants to thank Winmau, L-Style Global, Spider Tech, Flying Bull Darts, Dutchman Darts and Kryptonite Darts for their continued support. She will return to action later this month at the Savannah Open.
