In Mixed Doubles, Sandy teamed up with Hossey Hicks for the 2nd time this year. But they never quite hit their stride and were out before the money rounds in both 501 and Cricket. Her Ladies partner was Amber Wyatt, and again they were playing for the 2nd time this year. They won Ladies Cricket Doubles on Saturday but unfortunately Amber was sick on Sunday, Sandy was so lucky that an old friend was only a phone call away. A special thank you goes out to Camille Bunnell who was able to substitute on very short notice. Guess what? They were playing together for the 2nd time this year and reached the Semi-Finals before bowing out to the eventual champions Shea Cole and Kayla Murray.
Mixed Triples in always a big event at the Ghost with the added Halloween costume contest. Sandy always dresses up and looks forward to the event all year, or in this case, the last 3 years. She scrambled to find a team but again a couple of old friends helped her out, thanks go out to Jackie Quayle and Mike Elderbroom. Surprisingly this was the first time she has ever played with them. They finished up their run to the Quarter Finals at 12:30 AM to cap off a long day.
Sandy had to work hard throughout both Singles events but she played well at times and was resilient. She was fresh and rested on Saturday morning and came through a tough bracket dropping only one leg on her way to the Cricket Title. Sunday's 501 was much harder. The last event of the weekend and she was pretty tired, running on fumes at times. Sandy has a saying " She who throws the best tired darts wins". On Sunday Sandy threw the best "tired" darts and earned the 501 Title. It is her 10th Singles crown of the season and raises her career record to 166 Titles. While it was a great weekend financially speaking, she's especially proud to win the first 2 Singles Titles at the new Ghost.
Sandy has some great support in her corner, super sponsors that make amazing products. Thanks go out as always to Magic Wear Sports Apparel, L-Style Global and Winmau. The year is winding down but she still has events on the schedule and will return in 3 weeks for Darts for Arch - The Bob Archbold Memorial Tournament in Wellford, SC
