Sandy kicked off her 2022 season in a familiar place, Pineville, NC for the Celebrate the New Year tournament. The event has been a regular stop on her tour for many years and it proved to be a successful weekend once again.
She was able to play with youth phenom Ryan Avellino for the first time, Ryan is an up and coming talent who just inked a sponsorship deal with Shot Darts. They reached the Finals twice, winning in Cricket and finishing 2nd in 501. He has a bright future in the sport, such a talented young man with strong family support.
She was also playing for the first time with Lisa Spritz, a legendary player in the Carolinas who has been away from the game for quite a while. Sandy was happy to finally get this opportunity and they made the most of it winning both 501 and Cricket titles.
Sandy would see Lisa again in the Cricket Finals and earned a close victory. Sandy also won the 501 Title marking her first two Singles titles of the season and raising her career total to 157. She ended up winning 5 of the 6 events she entered.
