Well, this year the winter weather hit a different area of the Carolina's and Sandy was able to return to her normal kick off event for the New Year in Pineville, NC for her first tournament of 2018. After having to cancel last year's event, she was able to reset with fellow K-Girl Lora Josey and Pat Hewitt, both good friends.
Sandy had a 7 week holiday break from tournaments and 3 weeks off from throwing at all, she was at times rusty and not in what she calls "tournament shape" yet, but you have to start somewhere.
Saturday she opened by winning Mixed Doubles Cricket with Pat and claimed her first Singles Title of the season in Cricket. She and Lora then paired up to win Ladies Doubles Cricket and make for a great first day back. On Sunday she and Pat reached the Finals but came up just short settling for a 2nd Place finish in Mixed Doubles 501. She rebounded in 501 Singles to earn a tough 5 leg win against Deb Blackwelder and she and Lora won Ladies Doubles 501, all in all it was a good weekend winning 5 of 6 events she entered.
Sandy has a lot planned for January and is glad to be back into the tournament swing with her incredible sponsors. Winmau makes her signature "Storm" darts which are distributed in America by Dutchman Darts. Her "Storm" flights and carbon shafts are supplied by L-Style Global and Flying Bull Darts creates her custom sublimation dart shirts. Sandy is very thankful for the strong support and amazing products of her sponsors and looks forward to an exciting season.
