This year was no different and the added Women's Cricket Pro Shoot which was seeded actually raised the bar. Sixteen North American players were given byes through the qualify process with Sandy seeded #4 overall.
She progressed through the tough field where the Top 4 seeds all came through. In the quarter finals she beat Marilyn Popp, an American legend 4-1 and then took out the #1 seed and defending National Champion Cali West winning 4-1.
In the Finals she met her partner for the weekend and fellow Kryptonite Girl Paula Murphy, these two put on a show for everyone to see, playing for over one hour in this epic match. Ahead 4-2 in the best of nine, Sandy dropped the last 3 legs as both women seemed to be hurting but you wouldn't know that from their darts. They were both on fire throughout the match.
Saturday brought Mixed Triples and a late teaming with fellow L-Style and Monster team mate Chuck Pankow, they were joined by Timmy Nichols but were dispatched in the first round. In Ladies Doubles 501 she and Paula struggled with their out shots and bowed out in the Semi-Finals to Doreen Sweeney and Mylinda Mannion. In 501 Singles she drew the bracket from hell as we call it in the dart world, she bested one of Canada's best players, Robin Curry to advance to the Top 8 but again lost to Paula who would go on to win.
Sunday was a new day but another tough bracket would again be waiting for her in the room full of talented players. Robin got even by beating Sandy in the Top 32, just before the money round in Singles Cricket. Sandy finally tasted victory in Cricket Doubles as she and Paula won another epic match vs Robin and Cali and eventually beat American legends Stacy Bromberg and Marilyn in the Finals 3-1. Her L-Style Sponsor was on hand to snap a picture and they have always been so supportive of her darts. Special thanks also go out to Monster Barrels Design, Flying Bull Darts, Kryptonite Darts and her newest sponsor Spider Tech kinesiology tape, who's product was again essential helping manage her pain throughout this grueling event.
