Sandy was one of many players that were disappointed this event was no longer ADO sanctioned, which is the first time in 25 years. Nonetheless, there were darts to be played and titles to be defended so off she went. Saturday started off with an Adult/Youth 501 event where she teamed with her frequent youth partner Gage Alvarado to claim the title.
She teamed with longtime local partner Amy Tucker to win the Ladies Doubles 501 crown over fellow Kryptonite Girl Candra Archbold and Glenda Alvarado. In 501 Singles she topped Angela Force of Asheville, NC to win her landmark 80th singles title of her career. She finished the day teaming with Pat Hewitt for the second time on this young season and they claimed another Mixed Doubles 501 title beating her husband Chuck and fellow GGDG teammate Sara Warpinski in the Finals.
On Sunday she won the Cricket Singles Title in a field comprised entirely of her GGDG teammates, she topped Gin Knight in the Finals. Sandy again teamed with Amy to capture the Doubles Cricket crown, which is their 16th Doubles title in 18 starts in this tournament. On the weekend Sandy won 14% of the total purse and all 6 events she entered, the 3rd time in her career she has accomplished that feat. She has been testing her new Winmau custom made proto-type darts this year and has won 11 of 12 events she entered with them.
Sandy also received some amazing news this week, she finished the 2014 season ranked #1 in the United States in the final World Darts Federation rankings. With the help of such amazing sponsors in Winmau, L-Style Global, Flying Bull, Spider Tech, Dutchman Darts and Kryptonite Darts she continues to set her sights high. Next week she will return to Las Vegas for some "high stakes" darts at the Las Vegas Open and the ADO's Cricket National Championship.
