Sandy stayed close to home last weekend, close enough to commute daily to and from the Fire on the Mountain tournament in Asheville, NC. Her Mixed Doubles partner for the weekend was her good friend John Liggett and they kicked Saturday off with a bang winning the Mixed Doubles Cricket title, however their good fortune would not carry over to Sunday as they were dispatched in the 2nd round in 501 Mixed Doubles.
She teamed with GGDG teammate Amy Tucker who has been nursing a bad shoulder and was playing in her first tournament since last year's Fire on the Mountain event. They repeated as Ladies Cricket Doubles Champions and lost a tough Finals match to Tracie Hughes and fellow K-Girl Candra Archbold. This event is a regular stop on her Spring tour and she has found a lot of success here through the years. This year she won 4 of 6 events she entered and swept the 501 and Cricket Singles Titles for the 2nd straight year. She now has won 9 Singles events this season.
