Sandy returned to the Fire on the Mountain tournament in scenic Asheville, NC, a regular stop on her Winter schedule and this year in their new weekend slot. After knocking off some rust last weekend she played much better and more consistent and found quite a good bit of success in the mountains.
In fact, Sandy was able to win all 6 events she entered. At a tournament where she is among many friends she was able to team up with 2 of her best friends in John Liggett and Tia Rogers. John and Sandy swept the Mixed doubles events while Tia and Sandy won both Ladies Doubles Titles.
In Singles, Sandy's 2 wins bring her to 3 on the young season and 143 for her career. She topped Jammie Campbell in Cricket and in 501 she bested Haley Rogers who was making her first appearance in a tournament Singles final. All in all it was a great weekend and the winter weather that was predicted wasn't bad enough to impact the event. Now it's off the Las Vegas for the ADO Cricket and 501 National Championship and the popular Las Vegas Open next weekend.
