This was a fun event and was able to see people we haven't seen for a while while enjoying the company of some old dear friends. The good time does not erase the fact that this was another tournament where she wore down as the event progressed. She also managed to throw some good darts at times as she tries to regain her pre-surgery form.
She was at her best early in the day and teaming up with good friend John Liggett they earned the Mixed Doubles Cricket title and had some opportunities to win the 501 crown as well, but ended up in 2nd place.
She again teamed up with a new partner for the first time, third straight tournament with 5 players, as Sandy paired up with Michelle Shamer. They played each other in the Winmau 501 National Championship and she was glad Michelle was able to play after having her scheduled partner was forced to cancel.
They endured a 9 hour Ladies Cricket Doubles bracket, finishing up at midnight to win Cricket Doubles. The late night made for a long day on Sunday and they lost in the Semi-Finals to the eventual winners.
Singles was a roller coaster, the best of the best to the low of lows. Sunday she lost her first match in 501 Singles but at least we go to leave a bit earlier for the trip home. Saturday she won Cricket Singles, her 3rd Singles Title of the young year. She was especially happy to see her good friend, Candra Archbold in the Finals. They spent some quality time throughout the weekend.
January has been a hectic month of travel, tournaments and nationals, and it could have even been busier since our Ladies team match was rescheduled due to weather last weekend. Sandy thanks her sponsors as always, Winmau, L-Style Global and Magic Wear for all their help and great products.
