This year she came down with flu symptoms before we flew across country to complicate the already tough task of advancing in a talented field of national players. She played well at times and won her bracket dropping only one leg along the way. This was the first time Sandy has played here with her Winmau signature dart and even though she was running a fever she threw better than ever in the thin air. By the time the Final bracket got going she was running out of gas. She got off to a good start but hit a wall midway through the bracket and dropped 5 of her last 6 legs. She ended up two legs short of advancing and finished tied for fourth place with Cali West, Sandy won the 1 leg tiebreaker with a 15 dart game and a 156 out.
It is always disappointing to set your goals high and fall short, she was hoping to make it to that World Cup in Japan next year but it just wasn't in the cards. Congrats go out to Carole Herriot who won the event and Lisa Ayers who also qualified. Billy Squires won the Men's event and Robbie Phillips punched his ticket as well. They will be joined by 4 players that will qualify through a points race in Japan next year.
Sandy's sponsors are the best in the business and suxh an important part to her success. Thank you so much Winmau, L-Style Global, Spider Tech, Flying Bull Darts and Dutchman Darts for all you do.
