Saturday's event did not start so well as she struggled in her early matches. In the third round she missed a slew of doubles and lost the match to Julie Renea 2-1. Julie was playing great on Saturday or as she said, the best she had ever played. Sandy was still sluggish but started playing a little better after her loss and both girls continued to find a way to shut down the competition. Heading into the final match Sandy still found herself trailing Julie by one leg and it appeared her long winning streak in these qualifiers was about to end, It was at that time that Julie lost her second leg of the day and dropped into a tie with Sandy forcing a one leg playoff to determine who would advance to Charlotte, NC and the ADO's National Playoff for the Winmau World Masters in England later this year.
With everything on the line Sandy would not be denied, she won convincingly to claim the spot going 26-2 on a very subpar day for her. Sandy has won the ADO's Masters National the last two years and in the long run she looks forward to going for three in a row later this Spring, for now she just wants to kick this bug and get back to her normal self again. As always, so much thanks go out to her incredible sponsors and their amazing products. Winmau, L-Style Global, Spider Tech, Flying Bull Darts, Dutchman Darts and the Kryptonite Girls, you are the best.
