Despite injuring her knee five days before the event, Sandy hobbled into the dart hall with high hopes of finally winning the ADO Cricket National Championship that has eluded her. Armed with support bandages and KT Tape she gave it her usual gutsy effort but was unable to come out on top against the country's elite female players.
She started well winning her bracket and dropping only one leg in the process and won her quarterfinal match 3-0. Then she came up against what many feel is america's best Cricket player and close friend Paula Murphy. Paula was not at the top of her game but won the first two legs before Sandy finally broke through. Leading 2-1, Paula again won to push Sandy to the brink where she responded with her best game of the match closing the gap to 3-2. Then Paula returned the favor throwing perhaps her best game to earn a 4-2 victory. As it turned out it was her toughest match of the playoffs and she went on to claim her 3rd National Championship.
