Surprisingly she didn't have much rust to shake off and threw very well throughout the weekend and was able to successfully defend her Cricket National Championship in what was arguably the toughest women's field in quite some time. She started the day by winning an very tough bracket and advanced to the knockout round. First up was Brenda Roush which was the Finals in the 2016 Championship. She won 3-1 and advanced to the Semi-Finals along with fellow Kryptonite Girls Marlise Kiel, Paula Murphy and Stacey Pace.
She then beat Paula 3-1 to reach her third straight Finals where she met Marlise. After dropping the first leg she rallied to win 3-1 and claim her 2nd straight title. Along with the World Masters, Sandy covets this title more than any other. But the competition doesn't get an easier at the Las Vegas Open and Saturday was another day.
She and fellow K-Girl Kay Hoover teamed up in Ladies Doubles and finished Top 8 in Cricket before winning Sunday's 501 crown. She and Robbie Phillips paired up for a Top 4 finish in Mixed Doubles 501 and they added Savannah's Billy Squires in Mixed Triples but lost in the 2nd round. In Singles she reached the Semi-Finals dropping a tough 3-2 match to England's Trisha Wright in 501 and met Paula in the Finals of Cricket. She won the first leg but ended up losing 2-1 in an epic duel.
