She used a round robin bracket system on Saturday which led to Sunday's long format knockout round. It was a huge success, a small tournament with large payouts, well organized and a for a good cause.
Sandy traveled up and won her bracket on Saturday without dropping a leg. She earned the first overall seed and a first round BYE in the knockout round. In the Quarter Finals she played Kay Hoover and had quite a struggle but advanced winning 3-2. She faced Julie Hamlin in the Semi Finals and began to hit her stride winning 4-1 in a match that was much closer than the score might indicate. Next up was her fellow GGDG teammate, Tia Rogers who had advanced as the 2 seed. Sandy earned a 5-1 victory but again the match was much closer and Tia who had some unlucky shots at doubles.
It is so nice to have new tournaments coming to our region, we have lost so many over the years. We want to thank everyone associated with this event and as always, Sandy thanks her amazing sponsors for all their great products and strong support. Thank you Winmau, L-Style Global, Dutchman Darts and Magic Wear. She is fortunate to have such special people in her corner.
