Pictured with Sandy is Amy Tucker, a good friend and her GPDA Ladies teammate. They swept both ladies doubles events. She also teamed with L-Style teammate Ryan Barnette to win Mixed Doubles 501 and finished Top 8 in Cricket. In Singles Sandy was runner-up in Cricket losing to Lisa Ayers and Top 4 in 501 losing to Amy who went on to win the title. She played with teammates from The Usual Suspects in Jeff Turner and hubby Chuck to earn Top 8 in Mixed Triples. She played well throughout the weekend with 3 wins and 3 perfect scores, but got tired at the end of each day still fighting knee issues and the complications is causes.
![]() Sandy and her GPDA teammates traveled to Charleston, SC on April 20th to again try and bring the NC/SC Challenge Cup back to Greenville. They lost their first attempt 14-10 last year and waited for 10 months to have another shot. Amy Tucker, Kelly Turner, Candra McClellan, Tia Rogers, Karen Carnes and Sandy won 15-9 over Charleston, the Cup's most successful team ever with 24 titles. They have held the Cup for about 5 years in a row and showed the heart of a champion during the tightly contested match. The entire Charleston Ladies Team and their sponsor bar, Sandy's Place were outstanding hosts and the girls all look forward to playing again. ![]() This regional event is one of our regular stops on Sandy's dart tour and this year we chose to commute from home both days. She played well at times winning both singles titles to give her 7 on the year. She was able to team with Heidi Channel for the first time and they won ladies Cricket doubles and finished 2nd in 501. She played with hubby Chuck and made a run to the Top 4 in Cricket but lost in the second round in 501. Strangely she was recycled and drew Heidi's son, youth player Logan Channel but couldn't advance from there. All in all she won 3 events, had a runner-up and Top 4 in 6 events winning over 10% of the total purse. This was her last event before getting an MRI done this week to determine the extent of her knee injury. ![]() Sandy made a quick day trip to Monroe, Ga to support a great cause, Bryce's Insulin Army which raises money and awareness for juvenile diabetes. She had to miss her league's local ADO playoff to do so but felt the cause was that important. This was the inaugural tournament for this cause and she hopes to be able to play in these events going forward. The trip was put together on short notice and she played with local league members who also chose to skip the local playoff. Her and "The Usual Suspects" teammate John Liggett teamed with George Alvarado but lost in the first round of 601 Triples. She and her teammate on the Greenville Premier Dart Association Ladies travel team, Kelly Turner ,made a run to the finals in Cricket but lost a tough third leg to finish as runner-up. She won Ladies Cricket, her 5th singles title of the year and 57th of her career. She also bought a picture with a $50.00 donation. With family plans on Sunday she could only attend one day but was so happy she did.
