She entered the Blind Draw later that night but lost in the 2nd round. Despite in early exit in would become a late night and the first match was at 9:30 AM, or at least that what we thought. A computer glitch to start the day would delay everything for about two hours and would reappear later causing even more delays. Once everything was corrected she teamed with Pat Hewitt and they would go on to win the Mixed Doubles 501. At that point something strange happened, they missed the deadline for entering Mixed Cricket Doubles, somehow among the delays and confusion they never heard the last call for entry, strange but true and the first time it has ever happened to Sandy and were both disappointed as you can imagine.
She also teamed with fellow Kryptonite Girl Sandy Haas for Ladies Doubles but they just couldn't find their groove together finishing Top 16 in 501 Doubles and Top 8 in Cricket. They will represent the United States in the World Darts Federation event this summer in Barbados, the America's Cup. She also got to play with her regular youth partner Gage Alvarado and teamed up with Gage's dad George in the four person event. Along with Pat and fellow K-Girl Candra Archbold they exited the event in the second round.
Sunday morning Tropical Storm Bonnie made landfall about an hour away and brought heavy rain and flooding which forced us to find an alternate route home after Interstate 95 was closed, as it turns out our plan to skip the last event paid off as we were able to get out early and return home safely. Sandy's last event was 501 Singles were she claimed the Title beating Beth Fox 2-0, she missed several doubles in the first leg but threw a sizzling 15 dart game for the victory. She swept both Singles events here for the second year in a row.
Sandy's sponsors play a huge role in her success. Winmau, L-Style Global, Spider Tech, Flying Bull and Dutchman Darts are incredible, thanks for your support and amazing products.
