She was able to play with her grand daughter Zoe Jane Hudson in the 501 Adult/Youth on Sunday. It was Zoe's first chance to play with her "GiGi". She also competed in her first Target/USSDA Youth 501 National Championship, they reached the Top 8. Sandy had to scramble to find Mixed Doubles partners after a late cancellation and played with Youth player Ryan Avellino in Mixed Doubles 501 and Joel Stockdale in Cricket. Both times they came up short against good competition.
She played Ladies Doubles with Stacey Tullock and they played well together reaching the Semi-Finals in both 501 and Cricket. in all, Sandy played with 3 people or the first time, which has become a theme for the season.
But it was in Singles were Sandy got into a zone, reminiscent of a younger Sandy before injury and surgeries. She advance up the bracket beating talented seeded players and was in position to reach the finals before imperfection set it. She lost 4-3 in the Semi-Finals to Andrea Taylor who won the event. She also lost to Andrea 2-1 in Ladies Cricket Singles on Sunday which was aback and forth high scoring affair. So, while the results were not what she had hoped for, the effort and execution is encouraging. Coming off a Cricket National Championship in June, Sandy appears to be heating up. Unfortunately the stress of playing
7 events in 2 days left her knee a bit sore.
Sandy is blessed to have some great people in her corner, thanks go out to L-Style Global, Winmau, magic Wear and Plague Darts for all you do.
