The local girls were missing their Captain so Sandy had the added duties put on her. This was a tough match from the start as the teams traded wins in Singles and were tied 3-3 after 401 and 6-6 after Cricket. The Wilmington Ladies swept 501 Doubles to build a 12-6 lead and put them on the brink of the victory. But the local girls rallied to sweep Cricket Doubles to even the match 12-12 and send it into the best of three 1001 tiebreaker game. After winning the first leg they dropped the next two and relinquished the Cup they had held for 3 1/2 years.
A great win for the Wilmington team and a break for the local girls has they drop to the bottom of the challenge ladder and await their next opportunity. Her teammates on the day were Tia Rogers, Haley Scott, Gin Knight, Teresa Cepek, Sara Warpinski, Candice Curran and fellow K-Girl Candra Archbold. Several key members of the team had to miss this match due to injuries but were an important part in the streak. Thanks go out to Amy Tucker, Amy Patterson and Laurie Beach who were unable to play.
The next weekend Sandy traveled to Charlotte, NC for the ADO Area 5-6 National Cricket Qualifier. She won the event going undefeated on the day to earn a chance to defend her 2016 Cricket National Championship, it will be the 10th straight year she has qualified for this event hosted by the Las Vegas Open.
Next up was a new event hosted by her local dart league, the South Carolina Upstate Dart League. In the $1000 Fall Fiesta she teamed with some old friends and fellow teammates John Liggett and K-Girl Candra Archbold. She and John would start the tournament off by winning the Mixed Doubles 501 crown, then she and Candra captured the 501 Ladies Doubles title. Finally she advanced through the field to win Singles Cricket and claim victory in all three events she played in. The Singles win marked her 14th title on the season and her 110th on her career.
Her amazing sponsors strongly support Sandy and they are the best in the business, Winmau, L-Style Global, Spider Tech, Flying Bull and Dutchman Darts. They are always such a big part of her success as they have been for years.
