Sandy had an amazing run and never dropped a leg in the seeding round or the knockout bracket. She topped fellow Kryptonite Girl Candi Ellis in the Final to win her third career National Championship and her first in 501. She was delighted to win the first Winmau National held in the United States and looks forward to future events for the USSDA.
She entered Friday's Mixed Doubles Cricket with Brian Blake but was out after a couple of rounds and she teamed up with Joe Romanelli in the Blind Draw for a Top 8 finish. Saturday was another good day as she won Ladies Singles Cricket in an All K-Girl Final over Paula Murphy who was a bit under the weather on the weekend. She also paired up with K-Girl Stacey Pace to sweep the Ladies Doubles 501 and Cricket. One of the highlights to this tournament every year is the costume contest and even though Sandy the purple dragon didn't advance in Mixed Triples with Brian and Mark Fair she had a lot of fun and didn't leave the dart hall until 3:00 AM. But those late nights usually come back to haunt you and in Sunday's first event, Mixed Doubles 501 she and Brian lost in the 2nd Round. In the last event most of the players were pretty tired and Sandy and Stacey were plain exhausted, Sandy always says that often it comes down to who throws the best "tired darts". On this day Stacey was the best and knocked off Sandy 2-1 in the Finals to not only win 501 Singles but the "MVP" award as well.
Another great Ghost on the Coast and the USSDA added up to one awesome weekend. As always Sandy is so appreciative of her sponsors Winmau, L-Style Global, Flying Bull Darts and Dutchman Darts. They are some of the most amazing people and produce the best products in the industry.
