Sandy and her teammates Candra, Kim, Tia, Haley, Nicole, Teresa and Gin were good hosts as usual supplying some tasty treats for everyone. There were several players who were knocking off rust in this event which is understandable, but the girls warmed up nicely and games were tight and highly contested throughout the day.
Greenville staked itself a 4-2 lead in 501 Singles. But Cricket Singles ended a tie and Greenville held a 7-5 edge heading in to 501 Doubles. They proved to be the tightest, closest matches of the day. The local girls were able to win all 3 matches by the same score, 2-1. The final score was Greenville 13 Durham 5. Thus the GGDG defended the NC/SC Challenge cup, oldest cup series in America, now in it's 39th year.
Sandy is fortunate to have such great teammates and great sponsors. Winmau makes her signature darts, L-Style Global creates her "Storm" flights and carbon shafts. Magic Wear Sports Apparel designs her custom dart shirts.
This year has been crazy on so many levels, but Sandy looks forward to getting back to a routine dart schedule soon, this match was a step in that direction.
