Sandy started the weekend on Thursday, competing in the ADO Area 4-3 National Cricket Qualifier which she won to advance to her 30th National Playoff and 9th ADO Cricket National Championship to be held next year in Las Vegas, NV.
She was on top of her game that day, never dropping a single leg and was able to carry it over to Friday's America's Cup Playoff. She won her bracket and advanced to the Final bracket along with her 2014 America's Cup teammate Brenda Roush, both were looking for an opportunity to defend the Team Cup title at next years event in Barbados. Sandy went 9-0 in the Finals and won the event. She and fellow Kryptonite Girl Sandy Haas will join Joe Chaney and Flying Bull teammate Robbie Phillips to represent America in the bi-yearly event sponsored by the World Dart Federation.
Once the playoff events were concluded the Ghost on the Coast kicked off early on Friday with Mixed Doubles Cricket where she teamed with Robbie, tired and emotionally spent after the national playoff they only lasted a couple of rounds before bowing out. She entered the Blind Draw because she was having so much fun and won a couple of rounds but couldn't advance into the money rounds.
Thursday and Friday events had left her exhausted on Saturday at a tournament that always tests your endurance. First up was Cricket Singles, which proved to be a very long event with the record number of entries. She completely ran out of gas but still managed to reach the Finals and the infamous "Graveyard" stage. She gave it all she had but lost to the talented Stacey Pace of Denver, CO who would go on to win the "MVP" award. In Cricket Doubles she teamed with the legendary Marilyn Popp but were defeated in the early rounds by the eventual winners Tyler and Kelly Meares from Florida. This would prove to be a theme for the tournament as she and Robbie teamed up with Dave Walsh of Boston, MA to reach the Semi-Finals in Mixed Triples, losing to the eventual winners. One consolation was she was the last player in costume thus winning her 4th straight costume contest here.
Sunday brought another long day and an early exit in 501 Mixed Doubles with Robbie while she and Marilyn reached the Top 8 in 501 Doubles again losing to the winners of the event Stacey Pace and fellow K-Girl Kirsten McCandless. The last event was 501 Singles where she struggled through many close calls along the way to beat Stacey in the Finals and capture her 17th Singles title of the year and 94th in her career.
