After a long run as Champions, they lost their last match back in September of 2016 and patiently waited their turn to compete again which finally arrived last Saturday in Summerville, SC. The team of Nicole Roehr, Kim Carpenter, Teresa Cepek, Candra Archbold, Haley Rogers, Tia Rogers and Sandy had a tough task on their hands playing the Charleston Finest Ladies who are the most successful team in the history of the Cup. The team was a mix of Cup veterans and first time players and everyone enjoyed a great day of community darts, food and fun.
The girls were focused and started strong, sweeping the Singles 401 events to get off to a 6-0 lead. But as the game switched to Singles Cricket the Charleston team rallied to win 4 of 6 and close the gap. Heading into Doubles Greenville had an 8-4 advantage. Their were many tight matches on the day but the 501 Doubles seemed to be the most contested events where Greenville won 2 of the 3 and built their lead to 12-6. The GGDG finished the match as strong as they started and swept the Cricket Doubles to earn the victory 18-6 and return the Cup to Greenville.
Sandy is so fortunate to have such talented teammates and amazing sponsors. Thank you Winmau, L-Style Global, Flying Bull Darts and Dutchman Darts for the amazing products and the strong support. Sandy will be back in action next weekend at the ADO Masters National Playoff and the Charlotte Open.
