In the Winmau Cricket Nationals, Sandy went 5-1 in her seeding bracket. In the knockout round she earned a first round 'BYE" then beat Debra Ivey 3-0 and Aaja Jalbert 3-0 to advance to the Semi-Finals vs veteran Marlise Kiel. Their battle went the full distance with Marlise winning 4-3. Sandy has happy with her play mostly but her endurance was not what it should be.
In the Charlotte Open she earned a Top 16 with her L-Style teammate Robbie Phillips in Mixed Doubles 501, they returned on Sunday to win the Mixed Doubles Cricket title. She and Dani Warmack played together for the first time and won the 501 Ladies Doubles event. They suffered a second round loss in Cricket Doubles.
In 501 Singles she wore down as the event ran very late. She missed some key doubles early and never recovered, she lost to Paula Murphy in the Semi-Finals and Paula would go on to win the event. In Singles Cricket she again reached the Semi-Finals, which seemed to be a theme for the weekend. She was beaten by the talented Michelle Graybeal who would also go on to win the title.
All in all she was happy to get back to tournament competition even if she wasn't in tournament shape yet. She threw well throughout the weekend at times but her endurance came back to haunt her everyday, she was quite sore after the long weekend and hopes to one day fully return to form.
Sandy has the best sponsors a girl could ask for, Winmau, L-Style Global and Magic Sear Sports Apparel have shown her such strong support through the years.
