
Sandy kicked off her 2017 season in outstanding fashion though a little later than planned. She was ready to play in the Celebrate the New Year tournament in Pineville, NC but an 8 inch snowfall the night before changed those plans so much for get ready for a big event.
So the long break from early December at the Winmau World Masters ended at the ADO Cricket National Championships in Las Vegas, her 10th straight year making this event. After breaking through last year and earning her first National Championship she was back to defend her crown at what was possibly the most competitive Ladies field ever for this prestigious championship celebrating America's game. She drew the toughest bracket of the field but won it in fine shape and earned a spot in the knockout round along with Paula Murphy, Stacey Pace, Marlise Kiel, Cali West, Robin Curry, Brenda Roush and Kelly Meares.
She drew Brenda in the first match, a rematch of last year's Finals and won 3-1. Sandy and her fellow Kryptonite Girls all advanced to the next round where she played Paula, the National 501 and Points Champion from 2016. Again she won 3-1 to reach the Finals for the third straight year. In the end she successfully defended her title topping Marlise 3-1 and claiming back to back Championships.

March saw her accomplish a benchmark achievement in the sport of darts when she reached 100 career Singles titles by winning both 501 and Cricket at the Palmetto Dart Classic in her hometown and brought her to 101 Titles overall. The next week in Augusta, GA she won four events including the Cricket Singles Title. April brought the ADO Masters National Playoff in Charlotte, NC where she went 23-1 and won the event for the third straight year. In the Charlotte Open she picked up 3 titles including the BDO ranked Ladies 501 Singles. She picked up 4 crowns in Asheville, NC including 2 Singles Titles.
At the Darts for Arch tournament hosted by her local league, she won 2 events including 501 Singles and she finished May by collecting 2 Singles crowns at the Savannah Open. In July Sandy traveled to Barbados, West Indies for the 8th America's Cup where she and her teammates earned a Silver Medal in the Team event and she won a Bronze Medal in the 501 Singles.
In July she won the ADO 5-6 National Qualifier in Charlotte, NC to earn a trip to Denver, CO later this year and a chance to qualify for the World Cup team next year in Japan. In August she played in the new Ladies State Challenge Series for South Carolina who topped the NC squad 15-5. Labor Day brought the Music City Classic where she won twice.
Later in September she won the ADO Area 5-6 National Qualifier to earn her a chance to defend her 2016 Cricket National Championship next year in Las Vegas, NV. She also swept 3 events at the Fall Fiesta including her 14th Singles Title of the year and reached 110 for her career.
Sandy finished the year with tournaments in Myrtle Beach, SC and Chattanoogs, TN before heading over to London for the Winmau World Masters and Lakeside Playoffs. She advance to the 3rd round in each event losing to the eventual Qualifier at the Lakeside and the #9 player in the world at the Masters. She finished the season winning 14 Singles Titles, 2 ADO Nationals, one of which was the ADO National Cricket Championship and earned spots on both ADO International teams. She ended the year ranked 3rd in america by the world Darts Federation and 4th in the ADO.
2015 : The Validation
She started the 2015 season in Pineville, NC winning 5 of the 6 events she played, including her first 2 singles titles of the year. In Greenville, SC she won every event she played and won 2 more Singles Titles. She finished as National Runner-Up in the ADO National Cricket Championship in Las Vegas. In February she helped her GGDG teammates defend the NC/SC Ladies Challenge Cup for the first time this year.
She also won the BDO/WDF Ranked 501 Title in Alabama earning her an invitation to the Winmau World Masters in England later this year. She finished off the month qualifying for her 28th consecutive ADO National Playoff, this time in Cleveland for the Winmau World Masters Playoff. In March and April she helped her GGDG team defend it's NC/SC Challenge Cup for the 13th straight time and competed in the Virginia Beach Classic.
In April, she swept the Singles events at Fire on the Mountain in Asheville, NC. May started with her winning the ADO National Masters Playoff in Cleveland, OH and earned a spot on the American Team for the Winmau World Masters in England. It marks the 5th time she has made it to England. She also won the 301 Pro Shoot at the Cleveland Extravaganza. Later in May she swept both Singles and Ladies Doubles events in Savannah, Ga. In July she won 5 of 7 events at the Summer Shootout in Charlotte, NC including both Singles events.. She also won the ADO Area 5-6 National Playoff in July, qualifying her to compete in the National playoff for the US Team later this year.
She returned after a summer break and picked up 4 titles at the Washington Area Open in September. She swept the Singles Titles there and in October she played in her 11th, 12th and 13th International event including her first PDC Qualifier in Hull, England at the Winmau World Masters. Later in the month she won an ADO Area 4-3 Playoff to qualify her for the Cricket National Championships in Las Vegas next year. She also won the ADO America's Cup Playoff in Myrtle Beach, SC and with be in Barbados next year to help Team USA try to defend the Cup they won last year. While in Myrtle Beach she picked up her 17th Singles Title of the year and 94 of her career winning the 501 crown at Ghost on the Coast.
Sandy closed the year winning 5 of 7 events at the Choo Choo Classic including both Singles Titles. They bring her season total to 19 and her career tally to 96. She ended the year ranked #4 in the ADO Rankings.

2014 : The Roller Coaster
The 2014 season was one of the strangest years Sandy has seen in her dart career, a year full of ups and downs. She endured a pain filled 2013 due to injury but none the less played at a high level through and finished the season on a hot streak. But in Pineville, NC where she won her first 2 singles titles of the year, she was at a lowest point fighting through the pain. The hectic first month of the Winter Tour continued in Greenville at the Foothills Fling where she picked up 4 wins. She was featured on the front page of The Greenville News Sports section in January (click here for story) and lost in the semi-finals of the ADO National Cricket Championships in Las Vegas where she also picked up several high finishes at the Las Vegas Open.
Sandy decided to cancel some early events and started physical therapy on her injuries. She picked up an important sponsor in Spider Tech Kinesiology Tape which was instrumental to her rehabilitation. When the first ADO rankings came out in February, Sandy again found herself ranked #1 in America and earned media attention with a local news story on Fox TV (click here for video) . She won the National Qualifier for the ADO Masters Playoff in Cary, NC and her 4th Singles title of the year in Augusta, Ga. In Virginia Beach she earned a 1st, 2nd, Top 4, and Top 8. She won the ADO National Playoff for the Winmau Masters in April, again earning a spot on the American Team. In Charlotte she picked up 2 wins, 2 second place finishes and a Top 4.
In May, she picked up 2 more Singles Titles in Monroe, GA and won 3 times in Chattanooga, TN. She represented America in the America's Cup in July and helped Team USA win a Gold Medal in the Team Event and a Bronze Medal in Ladies Singles 501. In August she finished Top 8 in the ADO National Championship and swept both Singles events at the WDF/BDO ranked USA Dart Classic in Stamford, CT, her 10th Singles title on the season.
In September she signed a 3 year deal with Winmau, who will create her signature model dart. They also sponsor the Winamu World Masters and Sandy made her 4th trip to England for this prestigious tournament. It was the 4th time she was the highest finishing American in the event and marked the first time in her career she represented America on both international team events in a single season.

2012 : The Distance

In July she earned another major sponsor in L-Style. She again earned a spot on the American team for the 2012 Winmau World Masters in England. Singles titles were won in Savannah, Charlotte, Greenville, Augusta, Chattanooga, Myrtle Beach, Nashville and Denver pushing her win total to 14 titles on the year.
Her #5 ADO finish was the highest of her career and she finished the year #1 American Ladies Player in the MLD, # 4 American player in the NAPDA polls.

2011 : The Pressure
In 2011 she added to her singles titles in Greenville, Chattanooga, Savannah, Charlotte, Augusta, Myrtle Beach and won the " Ladies MVP " at the Ghost on the Coast.
In Charlotte she again earned a spot on the American team in Hull, England for the 2011 Winmau World Masters. She finished Top 16 in the world and again ended the year ranked #6 nationally in the ADO.
She was able to get to more events in Nashville, Va. Beach and Huntsville. The season ended with the addition of a major sponsor, Flying Bull Darts.
In 2011 she added to her singles titles in Greenville, Chattanooga, Savannah, Charlotte, Augusta, Myrtle Beach and won the " Ladies MVP " at the Ghost on the Coast.

2010 : The Expectations
The 2010 season started strong with wins in Greenville, Augusta and Charlotte and a strong showing at the Las Vegas Open and ADO Cricket Championships.
The ADO ranked her 1st in the nation for the first time in her career and she won the GPDA 501 City Championship and the inaugural " Ron Beach Award ", she was the lone female competing with Greenville's best male players.
She won her first World Dart Federation singles titles in Charlotte and another in Houston and earned another invitation to the Winmau World Masters.
Wins in Myrtle Beach, Savannah helped her to finish #6 in the ADO national rankings, her highest finish ever despite missing several key events.

In 2009, she was focused, the trip to England to represent America and earning her first major sponsorship, she would now become a factor in american ladies darts.
She again won 2 titles in her hometown and went to Las Vegas for the ADO Cricket Nationals. She ended up finished as national runner-up in the ADO's Cricket National Championship to Paula Murphy.
More titles in came in Augusta and in Charlotte where she won her first World Darts Federation 501 singles title and the Charlotte Open Ladies MVP. She was Cricket Champion in Savannah and won her second MVP award.
She qualified for Stamford, CT 501 National Championship and again finished as runner-up to Stacy Bromberg while playing her second East/West All-Star match. More titles in Atlanta, Myrtle Beach and Charlotte she finished the year ranked #9 nationally in the ADO.
2008 : The Asencent
In 2008, she played more events and finished #8 nationally in the ADO. She swept to both ladies singles titles in her hometown tournament "The Foothills Fling" before heading to Las Vegas for the ADO National Cricket championships and the Las Vegas Open.
She earned a Cricket title in Augusta and Savannah, two more in Charlotte and in Houston, Texas where she earned her first invitation to an ADO international team, finishing second to Stacy Bromberg. 2007 : The Return
After years away from professional circuit, she came back to the sport in 2007, playing a very limited tournament schedule but finding some success.
She won Ladies 501 Singles at her hometown the tournament the Foothills Fling. For years this was the only event she played in at all. But it really started in May during our league team's City Championship and our final match, "winner take all". It came down to one leg of 501 and Sandy got the call. She had long been the best female player in our league's history and got off to a good start against the talented male player but lost in the end and vowed to raise her level of play as when she first started in 1990.
A few weeks later she entered and won her first event back in Charlotte at The Green Room. After getting a new set of "John Part" darts on Saturday, she went out and won Ladies 501 Singles and it was on. Two weeks later in Atlanta she qualified for the ADO National playoffs in Denver, CO, only the second of her career. She played in Atlanta in the Peachtree Open in August and other bar tournament there before heading to the Colorado Open.
At her first National playoffs in years she played some of the true legends of the game and met many people who would become some of her closest friends in darts. She would later win a regional in Winston-Salem to advance to her first Cricket National Championship in Las Vegas in 2008 and come close to winning the Ladies MVP in Myrtle Beach at Ghost on the Coast. She won Ladies Cricket Singles and was runner-up in 501 singles.
On the year she played 5 tournaments, 2 regional qualifiers and one national playoff to finish the year ranked #52 in the American Darts Organization winning 4 singles titles.
